Node hardware and system requirements¶
It is recommended that a dedicated machine is setup to run the node, either hosted on a Cloud Service, or a physical machine. The node should have a DNS (Domain Name System) assigned and an SSL certificate.
Hardware requirements¶
The minimum hardware requirements for running a Redbelly Network node are:
| Component | Requirement |
|---|---|
| CPU | 8-core CPU or equivalent |
| Architecture | x86-64 (also known as x64, x86_64, AMD64, and Intel 64) |
| RAM | 16 GB of RAM |
| OS | Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS or later (x86-64 compatible) |
| Storage | 1 TB |
System requirements¶
The system requirements for running a Redbelly node are as follows:
- Inbound TCP ports 8545, 8546, 1111, and 1888 (recommended)
- OS: Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS or later (x86-64 compatible)
Network requirements¶
The network requirements for running a Redbelly node are as follows:
- Network bandwidth: 40 Mbps with stable connection
- Low latency circuit to the carrier (e.g. fiber optic) that supported a round trip time of 200 milliseconds to peered node.
